- Bloodworm Turbo German Rig
Recommended for best performance - Wafters, Balanced Bottom Baits
The Turbo German Rig is a slightly different take on the highly successful ronnie rig but offers completely different hooking mechanics.
A very versatile rig that can be used all year round and with the ability to be cast onto any lakebed. With excellent anti-tangle and reset properties, you can always be assured that your rig is perfectly presented and primed for a bite.
Unlike a ronnie rig that uses a popup for best performance, the turbo german rig will utilise the properties of a wafter or balanced bait which will give you a different way to present your rig. Whether that is as a single hookbait or over a bed of particle, it will be low to the lakebed and look almost like a free offering to an unsuspecting carp.
The bloodworm turbo german rig incorporates our bloodworm red boom which is geared towards fishing over silty and dirtier areas and troughs in the lake where the dead weed and matter builds up. The bloodworm will be amongst the silt and chod and the carp will visit these areas to filter the protein rich worms. Whether you're spodding over your rig or dropping the bait and rig from a bait boat, this will give your rig the best opportunity for a bite.
To give your rig the maximum chance of blending in, we offer the boom in a bloodworm red and the shrink tubing in bloodworm red, weed green and silt black.
Key Rig Features & Benefits
All of our booms are made with 25lb Amnesia with the exception of our camo fleck which is closer to 50lb.
They're not only solid but highly abrasion resistant whilst maintaining a similar diameter to Korda Boom.
If the hooklink does happen to get kinked after fighting a fish it can be straightened without steam in just a few seconds using 2 knot pullers.
Lead Setup - Suitable for both lead clip and helicopter setups (select the relevant swivel)
Crimped at both ends - this adds strength and neatness over a knot.
Anti-Tangle - The boom will always kick the hook away from the lead whether cast or dropped from a boat.
Reset properties - In the event of an aborted take, the rig will reset itself, ready for the next bite.
Exceptional hooking properties - the hook will sit flat until the bait is taken and once tightened to the lead the hook point will drive into the carps bottom lip.
Tips
When using a wafter you may need to trim some of it with scissors or balance with some putty or lead shot. Ideally you will want the hook to be laying flat on the lakebed with the hookbait hovering just above it. The buoyancy of a wafter will vary depending on brand and size so it's always worth testing your rig in the margin or a tub before casting out. Ideally you will want the rig to slowly fall through the water so it will sit on top of any detritus.
