Hinged Stiff Rig - Ready Made Carp Rigs
The Hinged Stiff Rig combines a short hook section made with a 25lb high memory chod material. The hook section is then slightly curved to allow for even greater hooking potential. The stiff 25lb Korda boom is then attached to allow the hook section to kick away from the lead and slowly settle into position.
The rig has been around for a very long time and has 2 main characteristics that make it stand out.
The first being the excellent anti tangle properties and secondly, the hooking efficiency it possesses.
These rigs can be used from short to long range and are virtually tangle free.
If you suffer an aborted take they also have excellent reset properties due to the stiff boom section and will give you confidence that the rig is still presented for you.
As the Korda boom has high memory, you will be able to straighten without the need for steam and the same goes for the chod material which can easily be curved in seconds.
