Hair Rigs
The original rig and one that still catches plenty of carp to this day.
With the ability to attach pretty much any bait other there it makes it a very versatile addition to any rig box. Some times, keeping it simple is all it takes.
Mostly fished on the lakebed, the simple addition of a split shot or putty can convert this into a popup rig in seconds.

Blowback Rigs
The simple addition of a rig ring to the hair was a game changer and totally changed the rig mechanics of a standard hair rig.
The bait will now sit closer to the shank but still able to move independent of the hook shank and leave the hook at and aggressive angle.
When a carp sucks in the bait and tries to eject it the bait will slide up the hook shank leaving the hook to bury into it's bottom lip.
Just like the hair rig, any bait can be used with this rig and in a variety of styles from bottom bait to wafter to popup.
