- Ronnie Rig & IQ D Rig Combo (6 rigs)
Recommended for best performance - Popup, Wafter, Balanced Bait
The Ronnie Rig is a very fashionable rig these days but with total justification. After many years of outstanding results, this is now a go to rig for many anglers.
A very versatile rig that can be used all year round and with the ability to be cast onto almost any lakebed. (if you do want to use in amongst the weed, we recommend using a heli leader setup) With anti-tangle properties and extremely effective 360 degree hooking mechanics, you can always be assured that your rig is perfectly presented and primed for a curious carp to take your bait.
We also added some IQ D Rigs into the combo to give you the option of fishing on the deck with a wafter or balanced bait. This will give you an extra option on the bank and ability to maybe use a different tactic on each rod.
Whatever your preference you can have total confidence in these rigs and know that they won't let you down when it matters most.
Key Rig Features & Benefits
All of our booms are made with 25lb Amnesia with the exception of our camo fleck which is closer to 50lb.
They're not only solid but highly abrasion resistant whilst maintaining a similar diameter to Korda Boom.
If the hooklink does happen to get kinked after fighting a fish it can be straightened without steam in just a few seconds using 2 knot pullers.
Lead Setup - Suitable for both lead clip and helicopter setups (select the relevant swivel)
Crimped at both ends - this adds strength and neatness over a knot. The D Rigs will have a figure of eight loop knot.
Anti-Tangle - The boom will always kick the hook away from the lead whether cast or dropped from a boat.
Reset properties - In the event of an aborted take, the rig will reset itself, ready for the next bite.
Exceptional hooking properties - the hook can spin 360 degrees so a carp can approach from any direction and still get hooked.
Tips
When using a popup you will more than likely need to add some putty around the crimp to balance it correctly. The buoyancy of a popup will vary depending on brand and size so it's always worth testing your rig in the margin or a tub before casting out. Ideally you will want the rig to slowly fall through the water so it will sit on top of any detritus. The same will go for wafters. Check that the hook is sitting flat to the lakebed with the hookbait wafting above it as this will give you the best hooking potential. It's better to spend a few minutes tweaking your hookbaits to ensure your rigs are working for you out in the lake.
