The D Aligner Rig utilises a pre formed D that is attached to the hook shank and is highly effective in flipping the hook and catching hold.

You only have to test this in your palm to be convinced of it's potential and know that when a carp picks up your bait, it is going to get nailed.

The coated hooklink and the curve shank hook along with the aligner creates a perfect combination and the added bonus is that the D will not get damaged after catching a fish.  Normal D sections get mangled when a fish is caught and even though they can be re-shaped to some degree, they will never be as perfect as they were beforehand.

I personally like to use a Mainline banoffee wafter with these rigs but whatever your preference, you can have total confidence in this rig and know that it simply does not let you down when it matters most.

Tips

When using a wafter, ensure that you test the rig before casting it into the lake.  Ideally you want the hook to be sat flat and the bait wafting above it.  The buoyancy of a hookbait can make the rig sit incorrectly due to a few factors such as the size of the hook or the size of the hookbait.  If you use a size 4 hook as an example, it will be a lot heavier than a size 8 or a 14mm wafter will be less buoyant than an 18mm.  I always test in a tub while on the bank and trim the hookbait until it sits perfectly.  It's always better to spend a few minutes perfecting your rig and know it's working for you out in the lake.
