The Maggot Rig is a highly effective all year round rig.  If you're a lover of using maggots then this will be perfect for you.

The bait attachment is attached to a swivel that will run up and down the hook shank, much like a german rig.  The hook will ideally be flat to the lakebed with the bait wafting above which both masks the hook from any cruising carp and the most important factor is to aid rig mechanics.  When the bait is sucked in the heavy hook point will face downwards and primed to pierce the bottom lip or scissor.  When the carp panics, and tightens the rig to the lead it will drive the hook home and you will be in.  This is all aided by the stiffness of the hooklink and in-turned eye of the hook.  

To attach the bait, simply open the clip and thread on as many live or fake maggots as needed and then close the clip.  You will be left with a hookbait that carp will find almost impossible to ignore and will get you them bites when everything else is failing.

If you prefer to balance or popup your baits you can add cork, foam etc onto the clip as well which makes it very versatile for different presentation purposes.  We've added OMC aligners and matching hook bead to the range to allow your rig to have better hooking potential and even more visual appeal to any cruising carp.  Adding a magoliner to the hook shank will mimic a maggot and as you can see on the photos, it works perfectly.

Tips

When using the maggot clip with live or fake baits you may want to have them wafting or popped up.  To make this possible just add some pieces of cork or foam to the clip along with the maggots and check that the buoyancy is as required before casting into the lake.
