The Pellet Rig has been around for decades and continues to catch plenty of carp to this day.  A highly effective all year round rig due to all carps love of everything pellet.  The added bonus is that these rigs can be used on the river as well as lakes.

The rig mechanics are simple and highly effective.  The bait is attached to a pellet band that is sat in the optimal position on the hook shank that will enable quick and solid hook holds once the rig is tightened.

A wide range or hookbaits can be used in the bait band so that is optional for you but this will allow the rig to be presented in a variety of ways as well which makes it very versatile.  We would recommend a sinking pellet however, to get the best out of the rig.

Fake baits can also be used to great effect so don't ignore them as they can be great in the right conditions.

Whatever your preference you can have confidence that this rig will do what's needed when you get them all important bites.

Terminated - The rig will have a loop with a figure of eight knot.  Solid and strong.

Tips

Always test your  rig in the margin or a tub before casting out to ensure the rig is sitting as you want it to.  I always take a small tub and check my hookbaits in that as it's quicker and easier than doing in the edge.  Spending the extra few minutes will make all of the difference in catch rates.
