Recommended for best performance - Wafters, Balanced Bottom Baits

The Spinner Rig is a slightly different take on the highly successful ronnie rig but offers completely different hooking mechanics.  Used almost exclusively by Tom Dove in 2024 as highlighted through the Thinking Tackle Uncut Podcast.

The hook will now come with two hook stops to ensure that the hookbait will rest in the prime position which will be between the hook point and where the barb is or would be.  A tungsten bead is also supplied and added to the top of the hook to ensure that the hook point is always going to be facing down when a carp sucks the hookbait it.  This will convert more bites into fish in the net as discussed on the show. (the bead shape may be as per the shot on the hook rig - depending on stock it may also be an oval bead)

A very versatile rig that can be used all year round and with the ability to be cast onto any lakebed.  With excellent anti-tangle and reset properties, you can always be assured that your rig is perfectly presented and primed for a bite.

Unlike a ronnie rig that uses a popup for best performance, the spinner rig will utilise the properties of a wafter or balanced bait which will give you a different way to present your rig.  Whether that is as a single hookbait or over a bed of particle, it will be low to the lakebed and look almost like a free offering to an unsuspecting carp.

To give you a totally unique rig specification we offer a selection of boom colours and tubing to suit your specific requirements.
As an example, you may want to fish over particle so we recommend using a clear boom with yellow tubing.
If there is a bed of bloodworm then a red boom with red tubing would be perfect.
Silt and weed is very common so a black boom with black tubing or camo fleck boom and green tubing
These specs will disguise your rig perfectly.

If however you want to draw carp in to your rig then you can make it blatantly stand out.
The Korda underwater videos have proven to show that carp do not get spooked at brighter colours, and in fact were very inquisitive.
Having that bright rig and hookbait could give you an instant advantage and an opportunity for quicker bites.

Whatever your preference you can have total confidence in this rig and know that it simply does not let you down when it matters most.

Key Rig Features & Benefits

All of our booms are made with 25lb Amnesia with the exception of our camo fleck which is closer to 50lb.

They're not only solid but highly abrasion resistant whilst maintaining a similar diameter to Korda Boom.
If the hooklink does happen to get kinked after fighting a fish it can be straightened without steam in just a few seconds using 2 knot pullers.

Lead Setup - Suitable for both lead clip and helicopter setups (select the relevant swivel)
Crimped at both ends - this adds strength and neatness over a knot.
Anti-Tangle - The boom will always kick the hook away from the lead whether cast or dropped from a boat.
Reset properties - In the event of an aborted take, the rig will reset itself, ready for the next bite.
Exceptional hooking properties - the hook will sit flat until the bait is taken and once tightened to the lead the hook point will drive into the carps bottom lip.

Tips

When using a wafter you may need to trim some of it with scissors or balance with some putty or lead shot.  Ideally you will want the hook to be laying flat on the lakebed with the hookbait hovering just above it. The buoyancy of a wafter will vary depending on brand and size so it's always worth testing your rig in the margin or a tub before casting out. Ideally you will want the rig to slowly fall through the water so it will sit on top of any detritus.
