The Zig Rig is an all year round option but will come into it's own in the spring / summer months when the water temperature rises. The fish will naturally start to cruise in mid water or near the surface layers so changing to this tactic will definitely catch you more fish that fishing on the bottom.
We offer the rigs with zig aligner kits (zig aligner and matching foam) or just a hair if you prefer to add your own hookbait.
The zigs vary from 1 to 6 foot as standard but we can do them longer if requested. The 1 foot zigs are perfect for adjustable zig floats if that is your preference.
The hooklink will be Korda Zig Line / Kruiser 12lb which is an amazing zig hooklink and one i've personally used for years.
We also offer a rig box that can store your new zigs neat and tidy. All marked up with the lengths you decide to purchase.
Key Rig Features & Benefits
Lead Setup - A heavy lead if more suited as it can ensure that your rig is pinned to a spot and isn't getting moved around by cruising fish.
Terminated - A figure of eight loop is added which allows the rig to be quickly added to your zig float or lead clip swivel.
Anti-Tangle - Feather the cast so the lead hits the bottom slower and this will help kick the rig out.
Savage bites - Zig bites can be finicky ones where your bobbin is up and down before a bite or you can get proper 1 toners.
Hookbait - Foam, popups, anything that floats, be assured that any bait out there will have a chance.
Tips
The more buoyant the hookbait, the better the presentation will be. Popups can take on water over time so may need to be tested every so often to make sure they're sitting correctly.
To entice bites, why not spod over the top of your rig and get the carp into a frenzy.
